Promoting positive experiences through sport from an early age can help young people feel more confident and motivated. That’s why we are proud to support the fantastic work of the Birmingham Youth Sports Academy (BYSA) through charitable donations that help them give young people the opportunity to be active and a part of teams to gain leadership skills and communicate with others.
Here’s what Anwar Khattak, Founder of BYSA, had to say about how our donation has supported the charity to offer sports coaching to young people in the community:
The donation from SPR has supported BYSA in many ways, both on and off the field. From helping to get a new facility in working order to the renovation of classrooms that allow for mentoring programmes and seminars, they've really helped us to enhance the services we offer. In addition, they have also helped us to set up an office so our young people can drop in for advice and guidance on employment, apprenticeships and educational opportunities.

As a charity with over 20 years’ experience, Steps To Work are committed to driving positive change within the communities they serve through the delivery of employment support services. They support local unemployed residents to build their confidence, gain new skills, face their challenges, and ultimately obtain secure employment and financial stability.
Working in partnership with them since 2002, we have helped the Walsall-based charity to support tens of thousands of people into work. Through charitable giving, we have recently enabled Steps To Work to open their Community Hub & Pantry that provides heavily discounted food and hygiene products to those living in the local area.
“Charitable donations from SPR have been instrumental in us being able to open our Community Hub and run Food Clubs in Walsall. As a result of their support, we are able to provide up to 600 meals a week to families in the community who are struggling with the rising cost of living.”

For over 50 years, St Basils has been working with young people aged 16-25 who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, enabling them to find and keep a home, grow their confidence, develop their skills, increase opportunities and prevent homelessness. Our donations have helped the charity deliver employment support services for young people affected by homelessness.
"St. Basils relies on fundraising to support our initiatives to prevent future youth homelessness. We have a range of programs that are designed so that young people in our care are equipped with the tools they need to live independently. These programs include our lifeskills program, our employability program and our hardship funds, which allow us to provide key items to young people at a critical point in their lives.
“The donation received from SPR has been used to support our employability initiatives, which have helped equip young people with the skills required to gain employment. This means that young people can make their own income and, when the time is right, move on from St. Basils. Serving as a hub for those living in Cradley Heath and the surrounding area, our donations have helped Cradley Heath Community Link deliver critical support to local residents, including financial advice, health and wellbeing sessions, and guidance on getting into work.

Box Smart Elite is a community driven boxing club that works with people of all ages, genders, and races, to help tackle issues such as racism, knife crime, gang culture, and other difficulties regularly challenging local communities.
Since their inception in 2022, Box Smart Elite has become one of the leading boxing clubs in the country, with its boxers securing numerous national and international titles. SPR are proud to support the work they do in the community through donations and by providing operational assistance.
