Payroll Assistant

Our Client are looking for a Payroll Assistant


Full Time – 37 hours a week


Job Purpose:  To contribute to and the delivery of a high-quality professional Payroll service that is above scrutiny and compliant with all audit procedures and good practice to support the achievement of the HR Strategy and delivers all College, Statutory and third-party obligations.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • To assist the payroll manager in ensuring that the payroll system and any payroll-related activity is outstanding. Supporting with the resolution of pay queries and general administrative payroll duties.
  • To assist in the gross to net payroll operation for all employees including mileage and expense claims and people receiving a pension.
  • To assist in checking exceptions reporting, processing of FPS / EPS submissions.
  • To ensure accurate processing of statutory payments including SSP, SMP, PAYE, NIC and the reclaim of Maternity payments from HMRC
  • To assist the payroll manager on all aspects of pensions administration, assisting in Year End reconciliations and audits to ensure that the payroll is fully compliant.

Other Duties and Responsibilities

  • To carry out all duties in accordance with the College’s Health and Safety, Safeguarding & Equality & Diversity policies and procedures, practices and procedures.
  • To carry out any other duties as directed by your Line Manager.
