Job description:

Walsall Council is looking for qualified social workers for their IRS team;

This role will include working in a quick paced Initial Response environment and a duty rota of four weeks off and one week on at present. Work will include both s47 and s17 assessments as well as CSE, Missing and UASC.

The manager would like to see knowledge and experience of duty and assessment, S47 investigations, S17 Child and Family Assessments, Progress to ICPC, PLO, Initiating Court Work, used to quick turn over of assessments in duty environment whilst showing good analysis and decision-making skills.

NRPF, HRA assessments, Age assessments, CSE/Trafficking, Challenges to care, homeless, as well as general knowledge of Domestic abuse, substance and alcohol misuse, and the impact of mental health are desirable but not essential.

Previous experience in a IRS/MASH is desirable.

An Enhanced Children’s DBS is required for the role.

£29.93 is the Limited/Umbrella pay rate.

Both telephone and face to face interviews are offered to successfully short-listed candidates.

Salary: £19.14 – £29.93 per hour
